Little Red Riding Hood 3

And the wolf didn't see Little Red Riding Hood either

Little Red Riding Hood
stepped on the wolf's tail..
 (My tail!)
 (Oops!)

oops:間投詞⦅くだけて⦆ おっと(危ない), いけない, しまった (!うっかりへまをした時思わず出る言葉)

then on his paw...
 (My paw!)

and dropped her basket
SMACK! on his head.
 (My head!)

“Look where you're going.
said the wolf, huffily.

"But you were in the middle
of the path,” said Little Red
Riding Hood.

She had forgotten the rule –
Don't talk to wolves.

forgotten:forget(忘れる 思い出せない)の過去分詞
"What have you got in that basket?" asked the wolf, hungrily.

“Vegetable soup,” replied
Little Red Riding Hood. “I
taking it to my grandmother.

"Vegetables?” cried the
wolf. “How revolting!”

 revolting:不愉快な
“Wolves only eat juicy, red
meat I never touch vegetables,"
he added.
touch:触るだけでなく、食物などに手をつける
 I never touch a drop.
 酒は一滴も飲みません.
Now, time for my lunch!(wolfの独り言)

The wolf was about to gobble
up Little Red Riding Hood.
But then he had an idea. 
I was about to ~するところだった。
gobbled up:ガツガツと急いで食べる

Little Red Riding Hood 3

“Good morning,” said Little Red Riding Hood, waving to him.
(I know! I'll run ahead and wait for her.:wolfの独り言)

 wave は波だが、手を振る(挨拶として)という意味もあった。
 Let him go ahead.
  彼に先に[先頭を]行ってもらおう
 ahead ↔ behind〖be(…に) hind(後ろ)〗
Little Red Riding Hood walked
deeper and deeper into the woods...
It grew darker and darker.

Then the sun hid behind the
clouds and it got darker still.

 Come on, lunch. Where are you?(wolfの独り言)

So Little Red Riding Hood didn't see
the wolf waiting for her on the path.(
wolfを形容している)

“I will,” promised Little Red Riding Hood and she set off.
promise:約束する
set off:出発する
 
森にあった展示物

  BIG
  BAD
  WOLF

  Aha! There goes my lunch!(wolfの独り言)

At first, the sun shone and the birds sang.

Little Red Riding Hood hummed a little tune...
bent down to tie he shoelace...
skipped along the path...
and stopped to smell the flowers.

bent(bend:身を屈める)の過去形
shoelace:靴ひも
smel:匂いがする 匂いを嗅ぐ
to+ 動詞(〜するために)

(At last! :と食べてしまおうとしたところへwoodcutterが現れてしまった。)

“Good morning, Little Red Riding Hood,” called a woodcutter.

Little Red Riding Hood1

Once upon a time there was
a kind little girl called Little Red Riding Hood.

She always wore a bright
red cloak with a bright red hood.
(I love it so much I never take it off.)

 take off:脱ぐ 取り外す
Little Red Riding Hood lived with her mother
on the edge of some deep, dark woods.

One day, Little Red Riding Hood's mother
gave her a pot of vegetable soup.

"Take this to your grandmother," she said.
"She's not feeling well.”
 be not feeling well:気分が優れない、調子が良くない


 "But remember the Rules of the Woods,” her mother added.

 Rules of the Woods
 1. Keep to the path.
 2. Don't talk to wolves.

path:小道
wolves:wolf(狼)の複数

Get the ball! 3

Anthony is angry with Alex. He gets the ball and kicks it away.
“Get the ball, Anthony,” says Alex.
“No!” says Anthony.
Alex says, “Get the ball, Anthony!”
“No!” says Anthony. He is very angry with Alex. 
“You get the ball, Alex!”

Anthony watches Alex get the ball.
But Anthony starts running. He runs at Alex.
Alex thinks, “Why is Anthony running at me? 
What’s he doing?”
Anthony says, “No, Alex. No!”

Anthony runs at Alex. “Alex!” he says.
Alex thinks, “Why is Anthony running at me?”
Anthony pushes Alex. Alex falls down. He is very surprised. 
Alex says, “Hey! Anthony, what are you doing? Don’t do that!”

“Look!” says Anthony.
“Look at what?” asks Alex. Some bags fall on the ball. 
Anthony shows Alex the bags. “Look . . . the bags! See!” says Anthony.
“Wow, Umm . . . Thanks!” says Alex.
“That’s okay,” says Anthony.

Everybody runs to Anthony and Alex. They are very 
happy with Anthony.
“Alex! Alex, are you okay?” asks Jenny.
“I’m okay, thanks. Thanks, Anthony,” says Alex. 
“You’re a good friend. Let’s play soccer.”

Get the ball! 2

Anthony gets the ball, but Alex pushes him. Alex takes the ball.
The referee sees Alex. “Hey!” says Anthony.
Kerry says, “Hey! Stop that, Alex.” Jenny says, “Good play, Alex!”

Anthony has the ball. He runs to the Blues’ goal. 
Anthony scores a goal for the Reds!
“Good goal, Anthony!” says Kerry. Kerry is very happy.

Now the score is the Reds 1, the Blues 1.
But Jenny says nothing. Now she is not happy.

Alex looks at Anthony. He wants the Blues to win. 
Anthony wants the Reds to win.
The two teams are having a good game.
“Come on, Anthony!” says Kerry. “Come on, the Reds.” 
“Come on, the Blues!” says Jenny. “Come on, Alex.”

Anthony has the ball. He is running to the Blues goal. 
Alex pushes Anthony. He takes the ball from Anthony. 
“Hey!” says Kerry. 
Anthony is angry with Alex. Anthony is a good player, 
but he is not playing well now.
“Come on, Alex!” says Jenny.


Alex and Anthony run for the ball. But Alex kicks Anthony and takes the ball.
“Ouch!” says Anthony. “Don’t do that!” 
Anthony is very angry with Alex now.
“Don’t kick me!” he says. 

  Ouch!:痛い!
