英語は体で身につける

 　英語の学習方針を大きく変えることにした。英語の短文を音読し、暗記していくのだが、次の通りである。
「英語を読み上げよう。読み上げるのは短文(単語数の少ないセンテンス)がよい。短文トレーーングをすると、自然に長文を読んだり、書いたりできるようになる。
　とにかく、短文をたくさん読み上げよう。読み上げ用の短文をたくさん用意しておいて、毎日、それを読み上げる。長文トレーーングをしてはいけない。長文を読んでいると、英語に対して「暗号解読」のような姿勢で接することになってしまうからだ。英語は暗号ではありませんから、そのような接し方は、間違いなのだ。とにかく、英文のトレーニングは、短文に限る」（『13歳からの勉強ノート　必ず成績が良くなる40のルール』、小野田博一著、PHPエディターズ・グループ、2009年、要約）。

“Cinderella!” shouted her stepmother,
looking up from a letter.
"Come and clean mybedroom at once."

“Yes, Stepmother,” Cinderella
called from the kitchen, where she was making lunch.
Her stepsisters had ordered their usual revolting dishes.
